Veritas Awarded ‘Business of the Year’ by Troup Chamber of Commerce

On April 19, Veritas Gas Processing was honored with the Business of the Year award by the Troup Chamber of Commerce. Veritas Gas Processing is one of four operating companies of Jasper Ventures, Inc. The predecessor company was founded by Jon Jasper under the name EPC, Inc. and has been employing East Texans since March, 1992. It remains 100% family-owned to this day.

Jasper Ventures purchased what was previously the Challenger facility in Troup in December, 2016, and invested heavily to renovate and convert the buildings. It now serves as its primary fabrication location for building modular gas processing plants for the midstream oil and gas industry.

The 16+ acre Troup facility has 64,000 square feet of warehouse and covered storage space, an abrasive blast booth, paint booth, and structural steel shop, as well as 6,000 square feet of office space. In addition, the company is completing construction of a state-of-the-art office in Whitehouse that will serve as the company’s new headquarters. The office will open its doors in May, 2018.

The Troup facility officially re-opened its doors for business in February, 2017 and was staffed with 50 people at that time. In less than a year, as of April 1, that number has increased to 88. Overall, the Jasper Ventures family of companies employs close to 250 people. And the outlook for future growth remains positive.

Shawn Forgy, Project Construction Manager, proudly accepted the award on behalf of Veritas Gas Processing.

“Relocating our manufacturing to Troup was a great move for Veritas,” Shawn said. “We have been able to increase our capacity and operate a few miles from our corporate office rather than 40 (miles). The talent in Troup and the greater Tyler area has allowed us to more than double our staff with excellent craft people. We are able to provide well-paying entry-level jobs. A young person with the right attitude can do more than just get a job with us. They can build a career with Veritas.

“I grew up in Troup and graduated high school here,” he continued. “It’s an honor to be part of something that, over two decades later, is still having a positive impact on the local economy. One of our core values is, “To cultivate a spirit of service toward one another, our clients and our community.” This recognition by the Chamber is reassurance that we are living up to that.”
