One Million Man Hours with Zero Recordable Incidents

Tyler, TX, Feb 16 2018 – In December of 2017, Jasper Ventures achieved a significant safety milestone. As a family of companies, we surpassed one million man hours worked without a recordable incident. This calculation includes the worked hours of not only every JV and affiliated company employee, but also that of our subcontractors and service providers in our offices, fabrication facilities, and field sites. The last recordable incident was on May 7, 2016, which pre-dates our company realignment from EPC, Inc. to the Jasper Ventures family of companies.

This accomplishment speaks volumes of our company’s commitment to the health and the safety of our employees and the safety program established and led by our Safety Manager, Gary Schexnayder. Gary was hired in January of 2016 and continues to work throughout the company establishing a positive safety culture.

“The creation and maintenance of a positive safety culture is an ongoing process, and it takes a lot of effort from everyone. A milestone of this nature would not be possible without the unparalleled support, attention, and consideration for safety that has been demonstrated by all our employees and subcontractors. I am very grateful to work with a group that has such a high regard for the safety of everyone on their projects,” said Gary Schexnayder, HSSE Manager.

“Our HSSE Department has done an excellent job in implementing a culture that achieves results without negatively impacting production. This culture dispels the myth that a comprehensive safety program will slow down the work process. Throughout the year, we introduced elements that statistically put us at risk. We opened a second manufacturing facility and have multiple job sites in three states. This resulted in new employees who are naturally predisposed to injury as they become orientated with their work environment. I am very proud of our training programs, policies, and everyone’s individual commitment to completing their jobs safely. I do not want to look upon this as a finish line crossed, but rather another leg of the race. I am looking forward to achieving the next 1,000,000,” said Shawn Forgy, Project Construction Manager.
